Reiki Level 1 (Shoden) Two Day Course

Course Description

Reiki Level 1 is a gentle and supportive two-day introduction to Reiki, designed especially for those with no prior knowledge or experience. Reiki is a simple, natural energy practice that involves placing the hands lightly on or near the body to support relaxation, balance, and wellbeing. It can be used for self-care, to support others, and even with plants and animals.

During this course, participants learn what Reiki is, where it comes from, and how it can be used safely and respectfully in everyday life. Reiki Level 1 focuses primarily on self-healing and personal wellbeing, while also teaching the basics of offering Reiki to friends, family, plants, and animals. The course is experiential, practical, and nurturing, allowing students to build confidence through guided practice.

No special abilities or beliefs are required—only an open mind and a willingness to learn.

Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes

By the end of this two-day Reiki Level 1 course, participants will be able to:

Describe Reiki in simple terms and understand how it supports relaxation, balance, and wellbeing
Understand the history and basic principles of Usui Reiki
Receive and integrate 4 Reiki Level 1 attunements
Use Reiki as a self-care tool to support physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing
Offer basic hands-on Reiki to others in an informal, non-clinical setting
Use Reiki with plants and animals in a gentle and respectful way
Develop awareness of energy, grounding, and intention during Reiki practice
Understand the traditional 21-day self-cleansing process following attunement
Practice basic ethics, boundaries, and self-care as a Reiki practitioner
Begin a regular Reiki practice for personal use

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Reiki Level 1 (Shoden) Certificate of Completion, recognizing them as a Reiki Level 1 Practitioner. This certification confirms that the participant has received Reiki Level 1 training and attunements and is able to practice Reiki for self-care and informal use with others.
